In a close
cooperation AFP and Dräxlmaier (automotive innovation, www.draexlmaier.de) worked for more than one
and a half years on the development, based on natural fibers, of a new concept
for car interior panels. The new panels are made out of environmental friendly
materials and create a weight reduction compared to traditional panels. On top
of that, the special surface film provides a splendid natural look and feel of
the car interior: Visible Nature.
The new panel passed the concept tests. This successful development has been
rewarded by BMW with a partnership for the last fine tuning and production of
the panels for the BMW i3: a new generation sustainable cars.
